Excellent overall experience with Ohio SMP Studio & Clayton Rush. I have been considering scalp mirco pigmentation for several years but always felt apprehensive about following through with the procedure. I was fortunate to find Ohio SMP and Clayton during my research. Noticing the high quality client photos and positive reviews made the decision to move forward with Ohio SMP Studio any easy decision and he certainly not only met but exceeded my expectations.

After a brief phone consultation and 3 sessions later, I am extremely thrilled with the end results. Clayton is a very skilled and experienced SMP artist. He will detail your hairline to your specifications and slowly builds your smp canvas/scalp over the 3 sessions, which is the optimal way SMP is performed. The Ohio SMP Studio is also very comfortable, clean and professional atmosphere, each session was relaxing & started right on schedule.

I had an onsite review today with Clayton and want to personally thank Clayton for his honesty, integrity and willingness to be up front and candid with me.

I thought I was a good candidate for a density fill for my balding/thin crown - (based on marketing claims and photos all over the internet) however, after an honest evaluation by Clayton, he was kind enough to level with me and advise there’s simply not enough native hair on my crown to perform an effective SMP density fill procedure.

This is the type of integrity and honesty that separates Clayton’s practice from others who may have performed a density fill procedure that I would likely would have regretted.

Clayton did an amazing job on the scalp micropigmentation. I suffered from an awful hair transplant experience and this really helped me get some confidence back. Clayton was very accommodating with scheduling when I unexpectedly got sick and helped ensure that I got a hairline that I liked. He was chill to talk to and never stressful. I had an outstanding experience with Clayton at Ohio SMP Studio. From the initial consultation through my final session, he was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely detail-oriented.

What impressed me most was his commitment to a natural result. He does not rush the process or try to overbuild density too quickly. Each session was intentional and layered properly, which made the final outcome look realistic rather than artificial. He also took the time to clearly explain the healing process and what to expect between sessions.

The studio is clean, organized, and professional, and Clayton genuinely takes pride in his work. The confidence boost alone made it worth it. Honestly, I only wish I had done this 10 years ago.

If you are considering SMP call Clayton and the rest will be history. It has been a few months since my last session with him so I can give an honest review now that it has settled. It looks great and so realistic. No one has questioned it and I’ve already had a few compliments. For the people that know I have it, they are shocked to know that it is SMP and not real hair.

I wanted to be as detailed as possible because thorough reviews were extremely helpful when making my decision. After researching SMP artists for about eight months, I ultimately chose Ohio SMP (Clayton) based on the quality of his work and our conversations.

One thing that immediately stood out was his honesty and professionalism. I asked whether the time between sessions could be shortened, and he explained that it wasn’t possible because the ink needs time to settle properly. That response alone showed me how passionate he is about his work and how committed he is to doing things the right way rather than rushing the process.

After the initial consultation, Clayton answered all my questions about the process and what to expect after each session. He was always available, extremely patient, and very thorough in his explanations. From day one, I felt informed and confident about what I was getting into.

When I arrived at his studio, we took initial photos, and after buzzing my hair, he carefully drew the hairline and discussed the style I was looking for. He was very helpful in explaining what would look natural, how the SMP would settle over time, and what would work best for my skin tone.

After the first session, I was a little nervous because I was expecting a more “final” look right away. However, Clayton had already explained that the first session is about laying the foundation—mapping everything out, allowing the ink to settle properly, and seeing how the pigment reacts with my skin. He also provided a detailed aftercare brochure that clearly explained when I could shower and what I should and shouldn’t do.

The studio itself is very comfortable. During the sessions, you can watch TV or listen to a podcast, and Clayton makes the experience smooth and relaxed. Between the conversation and the entertainment, the time really flies.

When I came in for the second session, Clayton carefully examined how the first session healed and explained what he would focus on next. After the second session, I could clearly see more density, and it was starting to look the way I had hoped. He mentioned that it was still early in the process, but encouraged me to reach out if I had any questions. Every time I messaged him, he was responsive unless he was actively working with a client.

By the third session, Clayton reviewed everything again to ensure consistency and explained exactly how the final session would go. After that session, the SMP looked exactly how I envisioned it. Seeing the final results was incredibly satisfying.

If you’re thinking about SMP, I highly recommend Clayton. After evaluating numerous artists, I realized that SMP demands genuine experience and a thorough understanding of the entire procedure. This has a lasting impact on your appearance and stays with you, so I wouldn’t risk it with someone inexperienced or just to save a few hundred dollars. True results come from working on hundreds of clients, and Clayton clearly proved that he is a skilled artist through his work and the final outcome.

Clay is a master of his craft. He takes a conservative, thoughtful approach to density and hairline design, which often requires multiple sessions, but the results are worth it. I looked online for quite a while for a good smp artist. I ended up going with a guy in Middleburg Ohio and I didn't turn out too well. 4 sessions and 3200 dollars later I wasn't happy with the results. I was really bummed out and was not trying to go any further.

I found clayton at ohio smp after researching a little further away from cleveland and he said he could do me a solid and fix it for around 1000 per session. I was reluctant about spending more $ but clayton sounded confident.

Not only did he fix it but he made it look much better then I ever thought smp could even turn out. Let me tell you guys, he is a pro for sure. I did two sessions with him and they were so much better then the other guys 4 sessions. Wish I would have went with him the first time.

Do your self a favor and don't gamble on another guy. Even if the other guys prices are cheaper. I'm telling you, Clayton's work is flawless and getting it done right the first time will save you a bunch of money.

This was a life changing decision!  Easily worth the money.  I feel so much better about myself and my appearance.  People say I look 10 years younger.

Clayton is the best.  I researched online SMP studio’s within 300 miles for about a month.  I looked at studio’s in Louisville, Lexington, Pittsburgh, Philly, Charleston, Cincinnati, Charlotte and  other cities in Ohio, because this is a very big decision and I wanted an artist that consistently does outstanding work.

The best artist in my opinion was Clayton Rush, Ohio SMP,, simply based on his clients before and after photos.

When I contacted him, he gave me a price and an appointment.  The price never changed I paid exactly what he quoted and not a penny more.

The first appointment it was very apparent why he is so outstanding.  He took his time and meticulously studied, lined up end made reference marks to my natural hairline.

We spent probably 20-30 minutes with him slowly examining and making reference marks and making adjustments to make sure my hairline was perfect.

For me the sessions were easy, Clayton offered me breaks and checked on me every so often.  Throughout my 3 sessions, I never asked for a break. I didn’t need one.  We did take a couple scheduled breaks per session but I never needed him to stop because of pain or discomfort.  It wasn’t bad at all for me.

I m soooo.glad I had this done.  I wish I would have had this done years sooner.  It will change your life!

Go to Clayton, he is the best.  Drive, fly, do whatever you need to do to go to him.   Ohio SMP is a 10-11 hour round trip drive for me, I didn’t care. I stayed in a hotel to make it more manageable.

Got lucky finding this place first. It wasn’t until I started the process that I realized how much skill is needed. It’s not like a tattoo that is duplicated the same for everyone. It takes someone with experience and talent to customize the process to your specific desired look. Kellie is very meticulous. She helped guide me through the entire process and was very helpful in explaining as she went. Didn’t hurt that she’s pretty funny and super friendly! It's hard to put into words the difference something like this makes in your life. As a women, a mother, a wife, a professional leader being self conscious about your appearance is a game change. Not only did I have a great experience at the studio which is very professional but Kellie was awesome! She made me feel comfortable, she gave me great pre and post advice and completely eased my mind during the entire process. Couple that with the fact that it looks amazing which gives me more confidence and as an added bonus my hair has grown a couple inches. Great experience all around. Clayton is a professional artist who takes his job very seriously. He doesn't cut corners and is very detailed oriented. The results speak for themselves. I had a transplant scar and a horseshoe head. After three sessions with Clayton, the appearance of your hairline will be restored and a measure of your confidence with it. If you're on the fence and want a practical alternative to the hair transplant route, just make the call to Clayton to at least make an informed decision. I had a series of bad hair transplant procedures done 30 years ago that left me with nothing but scars and very little hair. I spent the next 20 years hiding that mess under a hat. 4 years ago I decided to try SMP and go with the shaved look.  I went with a big name company in hair loss and the results were just mediocre. The hairline was just not natural looking and I was somewhat insecure with it.

I wondered if there was any way I could have this SMP work fixed, but I wasn't very optimistic it was fixable. But then I found Ohio SMP Studio and talked to Clayton. He had me send him some pictures of my SMP. Within minutes he called me and said yes he could fix it. He had an opening for me and I took it. My first session was amazing! Clayton pays an enormous amount of detail to what he's creating. The hairline he created is absolutely amazing. With two sessions Clayton completely fixed my prior SMP and it looks perfectly natural. He also covered the scaring from my hair transplants.  I am so thankful I found Ohio SMP Studio. A huge weight has been lifted off of me and I can't thank Clayton enough for that.

Satisfied customer here... I was exploring options for the last year, and finally settled on the SMP process. After doing my homework, i chose Ohio SMP because of the proven results, professional service, and  affordable price. Absolutely Masterful Work,
Clayton & Kellie are some of the best SMP artists in the world. More consideration & work than you might imagine goes into each individual clients' case and you dont want the results to look cheap or fake. It's not as simple as tattooing some dots at the same depth over and over.
They'll walk you through the process of appointments, healing and aftercare so you can achieve the best results.

My advice If you're on the fence about smp? DO IT. It will give you the look of having a shaved/buzzed head ON PURPOSE, which is why it gives people confidence.
It seemed like a safer bet than other methods & transplants which can fail and require a lifetime of medications to keep.

Just remeber to BE PATIENT and follow all aftercare instructions

after lots of research I came across Ohio SMP and was lucky enough to be within driving distance of their studio.  A phone consultation answered all of my questions and I was comfortable enough to commit to an appointment. After 3 sessions the outcome greatly surpassed my expectations!  Clayton is a well established businessman and a true professional at his craft.  His attention to detail in all aspects of the process attribute to him being one of the leading artists in the industry, and the final product speaks for how talented he is. Recently finish my last session with Clayton. All I got to say is even if your just considering it slightest, give them a call and find out anything else you would want to know. I occasionally looked at having it done over the past 3 years. Wish I woulda done it sooner. If time is an issue as it was for me Clayton was more than accommodating to make things work for me. Very professional and passionate about what he does. Environment was very comfortable as well as he is very friendly and encourages music/tv/shows/etc during sessions which made them fly by for me. The Ohio SMP studio was a very thoughtfully put together, clean and comfortable space that screamed professionalism. With each session Clayton was a total class act and went above and beyond in making sure that I was satisfied with the results, paying great attention to detail and being extremely thorough in covering all of the problem areas. Clayton is also very personable and great at making good conversation so your time in the chair seems to go by very quickly. Two weeks after the final session I was thrilled with my results, especially in the sense that I would no longer need to wear a hat or Toppik fibers every time I left the house and can now go swimming without having to feel self conscious about the appearance of my hair when wet. I really cannot imagine a better or more professional experience with SMP especially when it comes to the studio space, service provided and results. The faster you do this, the faster you will look better, feel better and improve your life beyond what you can imagine. I'm one of Clayton's earliest clients. I did a few sessions with another "artist" prior to finding Clayton, and I was starting to realize that she had no idea what she was doing. I was stressed out and angry. Then Ohio SMP appeared on my Instagram feed like a guardian angel, ready to save me. I have just recently finished my 3rd session with Ohio SMP.  Clayton by far is the best @ what he does.  I was scared to try smp again after my experience with another clinic,  but I knew just from my first consultation it was going to be much different with him.  I’m so happy I finally have a look that makes me feel good without all the extra use of topic fibers for density and  trying to cover scars with make up pencil. It’s such a relief and Clayton is the perfect guy to hang out with during the sessions,  I would recommend anyone thinking about getting smp to do it here and by Clayton Rush. I set up my consultation and Clayton called me and walked me through his process. Had three of the best cuts of my life with Clayton!
My hair grew in evenly between cuts and has never looked better. He wrote down exactly what to ask for when I visit a different barber, which I would never do if I lived closer to his shop.

Clearly being a barber for so many years has only added to his visual skill and interpretation of what needs to be done.  Just and all around great guy. I was looking for a place to get my SMP done and came across Ohio SMP Studio after looking at several places. I heard a lot of good things about this place so I looked at their Instagram and Facebook to see the kind of work that they had done. I liked what I seen so I got ahold of Clayton and he helped me book my first 3 sessions.

The first session he went over what kind of hairline I wanted and assured me that we could make changes to it if I didnt like how it looked because he was going a little lighter to test how my skin would accept the ink. It took me 4 sessions to get the ink to stay in and look blended in but it was still covered by my orginal session payment.

Clayton went above and beyond to help get me in for a few of the appointments and listened to the feedback I would give him. I am very satified with my new look and only have to spend a fraction of the time on my hair as I use to. If you are looking into getting SMP I would 100% recommend Ohio SMP Studio. I started going bald about age 26 so for 10 years my self confidence was so low i wouldn't go anywhere without my hat but after my first session it changed all that and only got better with every session! An absolute 5 star result and experience!  4 months ago, I didn’t even know what SMP was. Randomly,  I stumbled upon Ohio SMP Studio’s website, reached out for more information, had an awesome phone consultation with Clayton,  and I’m sitting here now just recently having completed my SMP process.

When I first started exploring SMP, I looked through tons of before and after pictures online, and thought “These look great, but can you believe what you see online?”   And to top it off, I have the worst male pattern baldness there is (full on “horse shoe”) and have shaved my head for 20+ years.  So, I went into this managing my expectations.

I can say without hesitation that my SMP  results are beyond what I EVER imagined possible. Clayton is a true artist.  My confidence is back.  I look younger,  and I’m no longer hiding under a hat. Thank you, Clayton.  You changed my life… seriously.

I want to start off by saying that I was a tad skeptical going into it. I have been bald for about 10 years and everyone’s known me to be bald for the past 10 years. I had come to terms that I’d never have hair again and just chalked it up as a loss. So I met with Kellie, she is very nice and informative on the procedure and healing process , she’s very thorough and leaves no stones unturned. So we started and I was still skeptical while I laid in the chair … until we were finished with the first session and I could already see the results, she was  telling me it’s really faint and it will gradually darken over our next couple appointments… while I’m sitting on cloud 9 that I have a hair line again. You wanna talk about a confidence booster folks this was the first day in a long time I felt this great about myself. After my next 2 appointments I’m still amazed at how Kellie gave me back what I had been missing for so long. All in all Kellie is an amazing individual, and the work she does is flawless. I recently attended Clayton's master training course.  I learned so much knowledge from him and Kellie ,it's unbelievable.  They strengthened all my weaknesses. For any guy out there who has been fighting the good fight against hair loss and are frustrated beyond belief, Ohio smp is the answer. I tried everything. Minoxidil, Toppik fibers, fins finasteride prescription, other experimental hair loss solutions, and even FUT hair transplant surgery. Nothing worked. Nothing made me stop being frustrated every time I looked in the mirror. My barber showed me Claytons Instagram page and informed me that he was one of the best smp artists in the country. I have to say, I wish I would’ve known about Ohio smp from the start. Clayton is truly an artist especially for creating a soft hair line as opposed to the hard hairline that most artists are only capable of. Sessions were easy and the minor pain was well below tattoo level. And this isn’t just for guys who buzz or shave their head. Clayton performed a density fill on my head which allows me to wear my hair about 3/4” long. Much better result than the FUT surgery. Save yourself the money gents, FUT only works on a very small percentage of guys who’s hair loss is very minimal. Listen, if you’re reading this you’re probably in the same boat like all of us before we had SMP done. Get it done! You won’t regret it! Personally it was life changing for me and not only does it remove the self consciousness but it just looks amazing! Give Clayton a call and let those ball caps get dusty in your closet.

Not only is SMP awesome but Clayton makes the entire experience that much better. The dudes been cutting hair for 20+ years and he’s seen every size cranium out there. Personally it was a no brainer for me after I found out he had already been in the barbershop business for that long. Not only is he a master at SMP he’s a really nice guy and he talked me through all my questions and concerns. Last but not least the studio was SUPER clean and Clayton was very professional throughout the entire process. If you’re thinking about it just get it done! I have been researching SMP for three years. After looking at hundreds of photos I decided to go with Ohio SMP. Clayton's photos stood out from all other artist. Having light brown hair I was concerned if SMP would be noticeable. Clayton heard my concern and went with a darker pigment. His blending skills were amazing. I knew nothing about smp until I came across Clayton’s instagram account.  I called him ASAP as I was impressed with his before/after pics, so we talked for almost an hour about the process and what to expect. The one thing I remember him saying during that conversation was, “I can change your life”.  I lost so much hair that I literally had nothing to lose, so I got in my car and drove 3 hrs to meet him.  His attention to detail and making sure everything looked the best it could be was extremely reassuring.  He takes pride in what he does,  it’s his craft - and he’s damn good at it. Clayton is hands down amazing! If your thinking about getting scalp micropigmentation done, do yourself a favor and go to Clayton! I had 7 sessions with another artist in Columbus and had a terrible experience and turnout, I couldn't believe it. Clayton did an amazing job on fixing the mistakes made by the pervious artist.

Clayton actually cares about his clients, he's extremely friendly, down to earth and will work with you on every detail to make sure you're completely happy and conformable during every session.

I researched SMP for a few months and finally decided to do it. I even made an appointment at a different provider near my home for my first visit.

Decided to trust someone with 20 years of experience  in the field of Men’s haircare instead.  Best decision I could have made.  Clayton is truly an artist. He gave me a natural looking hairline that I couldn’t be happier with.

Even more than his artistry, what sets him as part is his knowledge and experience.  He told me exactly what to expect and followed up with me every step of my journey.

From the natural look of the procedure to the professionalism of Clayton at Ohio SMP its a 10/10 no questions asked. It’s truly a life changing procedure, I wish I would’ve found this years ago.
